Yoga for Strength and Stillness of Charlotte, North Carolina is an eclectic blend of yoga styles. We begin with centering meditation and practical application of pranayama. Then we weave in the strength and heat building of Vinyasa, the theraputics of Viniyoga and combine this with long, slow, deep stretches similar to Yin Yoga. The culmination is a warm, fluid, moving meditation that tones the physical-body, awakens the chakras of the subtle-body and soothes the mind-body. By the end of class you are well prepared for the stillness in seated meditation. In this stillness we are able to allow each moment to wash over us without judgment, aversion or attachment to outcome. It is only then that true yoga begins since yoga, at its core, is something you become - not something you do.
My name is Samantha Leonard Noto. I am a wife and mother of two who believes that yoga is a highly personal and spiritual journey that can be available to anyone regardless of age or experience. I am dedicating this website as a teaching/learning tool for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of what yoga is and why yoga works.
